Highly injured high school student in Portland run over; The driver then becomes

Portland, Oregon (KPTV) – a teenager is recovering after a driver ran over him while skating school on Monday morning, according to Centennial High School.

School officials say the accident occurred around 7:50 am in southeast 148th Avenue, near Southeast Clinton Street. The student was crossing the street at a pedestrian crossing when he was hit by a driver. The driver did not stop.

The student, identified as a 17 -year -old boy, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.

“We will remain in contact with the student’s family on the situation and expect a quick recovery,” said Centennial Secondary School officials in a letter to the parents.
