Adam Fox adapts to life without former Ryan Lindgren rangers

Adam Fox is in unknown territory.

He had played with Ryan Lindgren as a defensive pairing for the Rangers during almost their entire career, and the two even knew in advance of the development program of the National Hockey team in the USA. UU.

But the The Rangers exchanged Lindgren along with Jimmy VESEY and the Rights of the Draft National Team without signing 2021 Hank Kempf to the avalanche In exchange for Juo Parsssinen and Calvin de Haan earlier this month.

Fox had been on the list of injured for eight games with an injury at the top of the body and had not yet felt the impact that his friend for a long time was treated.

He was withdrawn from the injured list last week and played his first two games without Lindgren, losses to the oilers and flames.

“It was obviously difficult,” Fox said Wednesday. “Someone with whom I played almost all my NHL career and I met him before. He is clearly going well. I am not surprised that. It was a bit weird, I was out, so a little adjusting now. I definitely strange the strange in the room.”

Avalacha has won six of its seven games since Lindgren joined (6-1-1).

It has an objective and an assistance with Colorado and is more two in the ice.

Fox was prepared for the trade, but also felt that it could have been avoided.

Lindgren is a free agent without restrictions after the season.

“I think anyone who goes to that UFA, you have a meaning,” Fox said. “Some of that also depends on us. I am sure that if we had a better record and we had more impulse (playoff), I would still be here.”

In the two games he has played without Lindgren, Fox has been paired with Urho Vaakanainen.

“I think that many times, you only think of lines as front and chemistry in that regard, but I think the defenders have to have a lot of chemistry,” said Fox. “Knowing where they are on each other, communication is huge. You play 300 and so many games with a boy, you have almost that second feeling where they will be, where your points of sale are, support, communication.

“It is definitely an adjustment.”

The Rangers did an optional practice on Wednesday.

Those who participated were: Fox, from Haan, Vaakanainen, Parssinen, Braden Schneider, Brennan Othmann, Brett Berard, Alexis Lafrenière, Jonny Brodzinski, Will Cuylle, Igor Shesterkin, Jonathan Quick and Carson Saucy.

Soucy, whom the Rangers acquired from the Canucks for a third round of 2025 just before the deadline, has been a healthy scratch in the last three games.

“I think he is working to catch up on the system,” said chief coach Peter Laviolette on Wednesday. “Sometimes, when you are thinking too much, it slows down a little. So simply get some practices, see some games, understand how we want to do things, I think it will help with that processing speed.”
