The position of murder dismissed against the man accused of running over the wife with a truck

Pittsfield Twp., Mi – A murder position against a man accused of running over his wife with a truck after they caught him has been fired.

The Washtenaw County assistant, Kati Rezmierski, moved to dismiss the single position of open murder against Nicholas Elka, 38, during a probable cause conference on Thursday, March 20.

This comes “after an additional investigation,” Rezmierski told the Judge of the District Court 14A-1 J. Cedric Simpson.

After conversations with an accident reconstructionist, the prosecutor’s office decided that he could not prove that Elka intended to hit his wife. “Without any evidence of intention, we could not continue with that position,” said Victoria Burton-Harris, assistant prosecutor Chief of the Washtenaw County, in an email.

Elka is still accused of operating while he is intoxicated causing death, and the case against him will go to the Court of First Instance.

He is accused of running about Teea Ann Elka, 48, with a truck during a confrontation last year.

Belleville’s wife had caught Nicholas Elka, 38, participating in sexual acts with another woman around 11:40 pm on September 21, said Jessica Blanch, assistant lawyer for the Washtenaw County, at an accusation hearing on October 2.

Nicholas Elka and his wife were in Liss Road, near Tuttle Hill Road, in the municipality of Augusta, and Teea Elka was out of the truck when Nicholas Elka accelerated quickly before moving away. The other person in the car with Nicholas Elka at that time knew that he had hit his wife, said Michigan State Police soldier Denis McCarthy, at a sworn audience on October 1.

Then he left the other woman before returning to the scene with her father and calling the police, said McCarthy.

Blood was found on the vehicle’s shooting train, McCarthy said. Blanch said during the reading of charges that “he ran” to Teea Elka.

A preliminary breath test showed that Nicholas Elka had a blood alcohol content of 0.081, a little more than Michigan’s legal conduction limit, and had been drinking while driving, said Blanch.

Teea Elka was a preschool teacher in Love, Learn, Rishy Montessori Preschool and Childcare Center in the municipality of Ypsilanti, according to An obituary Published by David C. Brown Funeral Home in Belleville. He loved country music and enjoyed firing rifle and restart.

“When he loved, he loved his heart,” says his obituary.

Teea Elka survives her daughter, mother, brother and niece.

Elka will appear at the Court on April 1 before the judge of the Court of First Instance of Washtenaw County, Carol Kuhnke. He is detained in the Washtenaw county jail without bail.
