A man was arrested when landing at Manchester airport almost two weeks after old woman was stabbed In his own front garden in a horror attack in Middleton.

In an update on Tuesday (March 18), the force confirmed that a 25 -year -old man was arrested after landing in Manchester airport. He was arrested on suspicion of causing GBH.

The police continue to appeal to the public that can have images of Dashcam that show the movements of a man that day, before and after the assault.

The current consultations have led the police to believe that the man walked along the road between 10:57 am at 11:01 am then traveled to Manor Road and then reached the road at 11:18 am after attacking the victim.

Inspector Kimberley Hins of GMP’s Rochdale The district said: “We believe that this is an unpaved attack that has left an incredibly shocked woman.

“We know that this incident caused concern for our communities, but I hope that the news of this arrest provides a small measure of comfort to those who have been affected by this.

“Our officers remain in the area to make more consultations and offer tranquility, and we continue appealing to the public to help with our research, particularly if you have any camera image of the day, it could be crucial for our research.”
