“Astronauts are paid like any federal employee on a business trip. They get their regular salary, without overtime, and NASA is responsible for transport, accommodation and food,” Coleman said in the interview.

While astronauts receive a small daily stipend for taxes, GS-15 government employees earn an annual basis that varies from $ 125,133 to $ 162,672 (approximately 1.08 million rupees at RS ₹ 1.41 million rupees), according to media reports.

On March 15, Spacex and NASA successfully launched a mission to recover astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams, who have been stranded aboard the International Space Station (ISS) for months.
