Police, special taxes told him to take energetic measures against drug pushers near the Addiction Center

Responding to complaints about the threat of drug pushers near the Deindication Center in Kozhikode Beach, the Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has asked the Chief of Police of the District (city of Kozhikode) and the attached commissioner of special taxes that intervene in the matter immediately. The details of the actions taken must be submitted to the commission within a week.

For several months, the Desindicción Center located near the General Hospital of the Kozhikode Government has been a shelter for drug pushers, who, according to reports, come into contact with patients undergoing disindency treatment.

“We had sought the relocation of the Deindict Center for the General Hospital facilities, since the confrontations and street fights have become frequent in their facilities,” said Ks Viswanathan, who recently visited the hospital for the treatment of his son.

According to hospital sources, an application has been sent to the district collector, seeking the relocation of the addiction center to a site with better security and surveillance facilities.

Meanwhile, police sources said measures had been taken to improve surveillance in the area, considering the growing number of complaints. They added that civil officers would be on service in area 24/7 and that the suspects would be detained in the act.

Sources from the Special Tax Department said efforts were being made to publish a sufficient number of security guards at the Drawing Center. They also added that changing the center to another town was subject to government approval.
