Hamas said Friday that he agreed to free an American dual American-Israeli, that it is believed to be the last living American host held in Gaza, after receiving a proposal of mediators to continue negotiations in the second phase of a high-fire agreement.

Hamas said in a statement that he responded “positively” to the proposal that was presented on Thursday to resume negotiations. He will also release the bodies of four dual nationwide hostages, he said without giving more details.

There were no immediate comments from Israel.

The meetings between the leaders of Hamas and the American hostage negotiator Adam Boehler in recent days sought the release of Edan Alexander, a 21 -year -old man from New Jersey, who served as a soldier with the Israeli army.

President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff told journalists at the White House in early March to obtain Alexander’s release was a “priority.”

The United States, Qatar and Egypt have been trying to close the differences between Hamas and Israel to restart negotiations for the second phase of the high fire agreement to free the remaining hostages in Gaza and facilitate the entry of help in the war of war.

Israel blocked the entry of help trucks in Gaza on March 2 when the truce intensified, and Hamas asked the Egyptian mediators and Qatari to intervene.

The struggle in Gaza has stopped since January 19 under the first phase of the High The Three -phase fire agreement. Hamas has exchanged 33 Israeli hostages and five Thai for about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees.

The second phase implies conversations on an agreement for the complete withdrawal of the Israeli troops of the enclave. Israel demands that Hamas release the remaining hostages without starting phase two negotiations.
