Foodphamer and Bournvita controversy

The influencer of social networks Food Pharmer caught attention in 2023 after he pointed out the list of ingredients of Cadbury Bournvita, a product of Indian Mondelez.

The product landed in controversy after an Instagram reel by Food Pharmer became viral that questioned Bournvita’s statements that drives immunity and provided several health benefits.

The influencer said that every 100 gm of Bournvita contains 50 g of sugar. Mondelez India took legal actions against the influencer, after which he eliminated the video of his social networks account.

After this, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a notice asking brands to eliminate drinks and drinks, including Bournvita of the category of health drinks.
