Man who murdered, dismembered a woman from the city of Oregon sentenced to life imprisonment

Oregon City Ore. (KPTV) – Jamon Fritsch was sentenced to life imprisonment on Wednesday by the murder of Kara Taylor.

Fritsch was accused of Taylor’s murder and the abuse of his body after it was determined that he dismembered it and left pieces of his body in the Coffin Butte landfill in Corvallis.

Kara Taylor was 49 years old when she was killed at the end of July 2023. Taylor lived with Fritsch and originally reported her missing.

When the police investigated, they found evidence that Taylor was killed.

“My little sister never deserved to be murdered,” said Marcus Sanders, Kara’s brother in court on Wednesday. “Ham acted as God when he was in charge of deciding to end my sister’s life.”

On August 7, 2023, Fritsch was arrested. The prosecutors said that before Fritsch informed Taylor missing, he made multiple trips to Home Depot to buy runs, canvases, a saw blade and contractor bags. After that, Fritsch went to the Coffin Butte landfill and removed black plastic bags, among other items.

The prosecutors had previously declared in the Court that the FBI found evidence of blood in the Fritsch bath, the bathtub, the walls, the bedroom and a saw. The prosecutors also said that Fritsch admitted to having killed Taylor and dismembered it, before leaving parts of his body in different places.

Many of Taylor’s family members shared statements in the ruling on Wednesday. Marcus Sanders, Taylor’s brother, also brought the urn that contains the remains of Taylor.

Taylor’s family declared in court that his legs and one of his arms were never recovered.

“In my time with the police department of the city of Oregon, this is one of the main cases that is shocking for the family,” said Captain David Edwins. “(S) horrible, obviously.”

In court on Wednesday, Taylor’s family talked about the type of person he was. But Sanders also took a moment to go directly to Fritsch.

“Jamin, you probably stole about 40 years of face life,” Sanders said. “That is approximately 331 million breaths. You are not only a murderer, but you are also a thief.”

Fritsch shared his own statement, assuming the responsibility of his actions. He thanked Sheriff’s agents for treating him with decency, but did not go to Taylor’s family, who was sitting in the courtroom just behind him.

“I thought obviously lacked remorse, but I will leave him to take into account,” Edwins said.

Taylor’s family described her as a kind and loving person who always saw the best of all. Taylor was also described as a phenomenal mother, who leaves an adult daughter with special needs.
