“Yes, I’m (surprised),” Stroman told Atlético. “That’s all I am going to say about it. But many things surprise in this game today. Just keep it like this.”

Stroman’s comments on being surprised by the things in the league could come from his own low season experience. According to the reports, the Yankees bought Stroman this winter, but could not move it. That made an uncomfortable arrival to spring training for him. Now, with injuries at Gerrit Cole and Luis Gil, Stroman will support to start the games when only a few weeks ago the team was contemplating to make the Bullpen.

Verdugo did not have the best season for the Yankees, but for him not having a new team is disconcerting. He had an average. Stroman also shared his thoughts about executioner as a teammate.

“Incredible teammate,” Stroman told The Athletic. “Amazing friend.”

Verdugo entered last season with an average race batting of .281. Its average .233 of 2024 could be seen simply as an atypical. However, Verdugo has not received as much as an offer of major leagues this low season.
