The co -founder of Entretr launches ‘Ai Teammate’ for Logistics, raises $ 25 million

Augment, a logistics platform promoted by AI, announced on Tuesday that it has raised an initial financing round of $ 25 million of 8VC. The company, founded by Harish Abbott, has created a “AI teammate,” Augie, designed to organize operations for logistics operations.

ABBott’s trip to Aumment’s foundation was deeply rooted in his experience in logistics and technology. The initial stages of his career at Amazon implied the development of compliance software, which gave him a critical vision of complex logistics networks. Abbott later co -founded Enternr, a realization platform designed to help small merchants compete with Amazon shipping capabilities. The company’s success culminated in $ 2.1 billion acquisition By Shopify.

After exploring the potential of large language models, Abbott acknowledged that logistics professionals spend most of their working time managing routine tasks such as email, phone calls and data entry.

“These tasks are very tedious and cumbersome. So we begin to think about creating a teammate that does not look different from a virtual employee … You can send them a text message, you can send them an email, you can call them, and start taking this mundane job of your dish so you can concentrate on what really matters, such as relationships, negotiations and routing,” Abbott told Fowtwaves.

Augie, the AUGment’s badge productIt is built to do exactly that. Unlike traditional automation tools that perform individual tasks, Augie integrates with transport administration systems and communication platforms such as Slack, Equipment and Email. It is capable of managing complex workflows in frontal operations and back-effect, communicating through multiple channels, increasing problems when human intervention is required and collaborating with human team members to improve productivity.

“Our belief is that voice or email agents and other RPA tools (automation of robotic processes) are being lost the general panorama. Real work in this industry requires emails, called, records in multiple systems and, sometimes, collaborating with a person in finance or other departments. It needs a solution that can carry all this context and collaboration and do a real job. It will intensify, it will intensify when it is necessary to increase.

To develop AUGIE, ABBOTT and his team conducted extensive research, following almost 90 logistics professionals to completely understand the weak points and challenges they face daily.

“We associate with Augment to build a multifunctional AI assistant, giving our team another tool to spend more time in value -added parts of their work and provide better experience to our partners. The Aumment team has exceeded our expectations as a partner, shading our representatives at home, learning the business and the creation of construction solutions that makes sense for our operation,” said Matt Pyatt, founder and CEO of Logistics.

With the initial financing, Augment plans to accelerate the development of Augie and expand its engineering and client success equipment. The company’s immediate priorities include expanding their engineering teams in San Francisco and Toronto. In addition, Augment will build a dedicated client successful team in Chicago to work in close collaboration with customers, refine AUGIE’s functionality and provide continuous support.

Justin Hall, who has experience in Primo Logistics, YRC and GlobalTranz, including an previous executive position in 8VC residence, has joined Augment as commercial director to support the growth strategy and the company’s association relations.

“After 25 years in logistics, to perform 3PL, fleets and technology companies, I have seen so many waste in this drainage time of the industry, crush the morals and limit the margins. That is why we build augie, a teammate of AI who not only automates tasks, but also addresses the complex workflows, while making the data more accessible and processable Freightwaves in an email.
