Yemen’s hutis are at war with us and will retaliate against strikes

Yemen’s Hutis It will not “reduce” its action against Israeli shipping in the Red Sea in response to military pressure of the United States or the appeals of the group’s allies, as Iran, said Foreign Minister of the Yemeni terrorist group.

Jamal Amer spoke with Reuters at night after US launched a wave of strikes In Yemen areas controlled by the hutis aligned with Iran, who said last week that attacks against the sending of the Red Sea resumed to support the Palestinians in Gaza.

Two senior Iranian officials told Reuters that Iran had delivered a verbal message to the Hutí envoy in Tehran on Friday to cold tensions and that Iran’s Foreign Minister asked Oman, who has mediated with the Hutíes, to transmit a message similar to the group when he visited Muscat on Sunday. Both officials asked not to be appointed.

Iran has not made any public comments about the recent disseminator to the Hutis about their renewed action. Tehran says that the group makes decisions independently.

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said Monday that he would hold Iran for the attacks made by the Hutis.

“We will not talk about any scoring of operations before finishing the blockade of help in Gaza. Iran is not interfering with our decision, but what is happening is that sometimes medium, but cannot dictate things,” said Amer, in his first comments on the subject to a foreign news agency.

Speaking of the capital of Yemen, Sanaa, who has been beaten by US attacks, said he had not been informed of any message that they will give to the envoy Hutí in Tehran.

There were messages from other powers to reduce, he said, but added: “Now we see that Yemen is at war with the United States and that means we have the right to defend ourselves with all possible means, so it is likely that the climb is probable.”

Iranian concerns

Iran, whose proxies and allies network throughout the Middle East has taken a hammer since the war in Gaza broke out in 2023, has demonstrated an increasing concern that it could be deeper in conflict with the United States. Iran and Israel exchanged direct attacks for the first time last year when Gaza’s War increased.

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, who withdrew the United States from a 2015 agreement between Iran and six important powers that stopped his sensitive nuclear work in exchange for sanctions, has intensified a campaign of “maximum pressure” of sanctions to Iran since he returned to a position for a second mandate in January.

“(United States) is threatening Iran and hitting Yemen. Now all the scenarios are possible. We will do what they will do to us. If they are hitting us (American Aircraft Corterist USS Harry S.) Truman, we will retaliate hitting Tuman, “said Houthi Foreign Minister.

While Iran defends the hutis, the Yemeni group says that it is aligned with Tehran and its ‘resistance axis’ network without being puppets. Yemen experts, where the hutis expanded control during years of the civil war, say that the group seems mainly motivated by national concerns and support base.

The Hutis said on March 12 that they had resumed attacks against Israeli ships using routes that pass through the Red Sea after the group said that Israel had not found an Huthí deadline to finish a help block in Gaza.

Israel’s block, which includes food and medical supplies, began on March 2 when a confrontation on a high fire agreement in Gaza intensified. Israel launched strong attacks in Gaza during the night until Tuesday.

Strike waves

The Hutis had launched more than 100 attacks aimed at shipping since November 2023, saying that they were in solidarity with the Palestinians about the Israel War with Hamas, another of Iran’s regional allies, in Gaza. He suspended operations when the high Gaza’s fire entered into force in January.

Houthi’s Foreign Minister said the group had only directed Israeli ships, but the United States had intensified and the hutis had the right to defend themselves.

The United States began a wave of strikes on Saturday that have reached the capital and expanded in Yemen areas controlled by Houthi, killing dozens of people.

Amer said that some European Union countries had advised the hutis not to increase, and said the group had tried to assure them that the objective was Israeli shipping.

He also said that Saudi Arabia, which supported Yemen’s internationally recognized government against the Hutis in the Civil War, had not intervened militarily so far, and there were no other Gulf States. That was something that the hutis valued, he added, as he warned that the Gulfo affirms the risk of being caught in crossfire if they intervened militarily.

“If an aircraft or base is used against us, then we will increase and defend ourselves, but if they (the Gulf States) continue to be neutral, we will remain remote,” he said.

The Saudi government communications office did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
