TELANGANA HC orders salary retention and advantages of wandering tahsildar

Hyderabad: The Superior Court of Telangana ordered the retention of salary and other advantages to the mandal of Tahsildhar de Atmakur in the Hanmakonda district to delay compensation to a family of farmers in difficulties, whose head had died for suicide in 2014.

Judge CV Bhaskar Reddy ordered the Hanamkonda district collector to retain the salary and other advantages payable to Tahsildar, until they are more orders.

The judge was dealing with a contempt case filed by Lakkarusu Lakshmi of the Netukulla village, complaining about the delay in the payment of compensation to his family, despite judicial orders.

The Court had previously ordered to the tahsildar and other worried officers who favorably consider the case of Lakshmi, whose husband Mogili had died from suicide unable to support losses in agriculture.

In compliance with the orders of the Court, the district collector has issued procedures at RC No. D3/1372/2021, dated February 13, 2025, granting RS 6 Lakh as former gratia and directed the Tahsildar of Athmakur, to withdraw the amount and pay the same to the request; This amount was sent to the Treasury of the District.

Prima Facie, the court determined that Tahsildar intended to create difficulties for the petitioner and, therefore, delaying the payment of compensation.
