Karnataka Lake Tragedy: How a brave act cost Odisha Man's life

Jharsuguda: Odisha Man, 26, was found dead in a channel in the Koppal district of Karnataka after he and two others were allegedly forced to enter the water by three assailants who raped an Israeli tourist and a local owner of the house of the house.
The deceased, identified as Bibash of Puri, was one of the three men who tried to intervene during sexual assault on Thursday night. While his teammates, Daniel from the United States and Pankaj de Maharashtra, managed to escape, Karnataka police recovered Bibash’s body on Saturday.
The incident occurred around 10:30 pm on Thursday when the victims, including four guests and the owner of the family house, were spending the stars near the Tungabhadra channel near the Sanapur Lake. Three men not identified on a motorcycle approached the group asking for gasoline and money. After Bibash gave them 20 RS, the situation became violent.
According to the police complaint, the assailants threatened the group with stones before pushing Daniel, Pankaj and Bibash to the channel. Then they attacked the owner of the family house with stones and sexually assaulted her and the 27 -year -old Israeli tourist. The attackers also stole the house’s bag that contained two mobile phones and 9,500 rupees before fleeing their motorcycle.
While Daniel managed to rescue Pankaj from the channel, Bibash could not be saved. The owner of the Family House presented a FIR at the Rural Police Station of Gangovathi on Friday night.
The four guests, including the deceased, had stayed in the property of the family house after reaching different dates. Police have launched an investigation to stop perpetrators.
