The president of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, Free while the judgments continue after the Seoul Court cancels the arrest

The president of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, has been released after prosecutors decided not to appeal a judicial decision to cancel the arrest warrant of the leader accused of insurrection charges.

The 64 -year -old player, who was elected 13th president of his nation in 2022, was released from a Seoul detention center on Saturday.

Yoon remains suspended from their duties, and their criminal and political trials continue on their short imposition of martial laws on December 3.

The Central District Court of Seoul canceled on Friday the arrest warrant of Mr. Yoon, citing the moment of his accusation and “questions about the legality” of the investigation process.

“First of all, I would like to thank the Central District Court for its courage and determination to correct illegality,” Yoon said in a statement.

His lawyers said the judicial decision “confirmed that the president’s arrest was problematic in both procedural and noun aspects,” calling the “beginning of a trip to restore the rule of law.”

Prosecutors could not be contacted immediately to comment.

In the political trial of Mr. Yoon, the Constitutional Court is expected to decide in the next few days if it will be restored or removed from the position.

Yoon, the first South Korean president to be arrested while he was in office, had been in custody since January 15.

On Saturday, about 38,000 of his followers joined in Seoul, while 1,500 people demonstrated against him, Yonhap news agency reported, citing unofficial police estimates.

A South Korean court is expected to deliver a decision in the next few days about whether Mr. Yoon of the position permanently or restored it after the arguments ended at the separated dismissal trial last week.

A new presidential election would be held within 60 days if Mr. Yoon is eliminated.
