Alix Edmiston, resident of Upper Beach, was making a message in that area and witnessed the accident.

She told CP24.com that she was waiting on the opposite side of the same pedestrian crossing when she saw a young woman, who seemed to be 20 years old, beaten by the driver of a vehicle that had run the light.

Edmiston said, suddenly, he heard a “deafening sound” and when he looked over he saw a woman lying on the road. The victim, he said, could not move or talk.

“It was so strong. It was (the driver) hit this little small woman, ”said Edmiston, who called 9-1-1.

“It seems that she has just left the road and was beaten. … I imagine it will have a long way ahead to recover. ”

One of the side mirrors of the vehicle along with some other small pieces of small cars were left behind on the road after the collision.

Edmiston said he saw the driver accelerate by Kingston Road, but could not catch his plaque.

Good victim of the help of Samaritans

In a matter of seconds, however, several passersby had rushed to the help of women.

Edmiston said that two of those good Samaritans are medical professionals who immediately began to provide attention to the victim, while another person appeared with an orange cone to direct traffic away from the accident scene.

A motorist also followed the driver who fled, he said, capturing his vehicle and movements in his Dashcam.

“It was amazing how many people joined to do everything. … It simply shows you how good evil always conquers, “said Edmiston, who stayed with the victim until the paramedics transported it to the hospital.

“I will never forget that lady lying on the street. She deserves justice. “

The emergency responders, he said, arrived a few minutes after being called.

The councilor calls the “deeply worrying” incident

Beaches-Easy York Coun. Brad Bradford said that this last incident is “deeply worrying,” especially because the driver fled the area.

“I am grateful that the police have tracked the driver and presented charges. Not staying in the scene is completely unacceptable, ”he said.

This last incident occurs less than six months after Rachel Turner, resident of the 22 -year -old area, died after being hit by the driver of a school bus just a few blocks away.

Bradford continued to say that this incident is a “reminder that we must make more for our roads to be safer for all.”

“In response to the previous concerns, I have heard from the community about Kingston Road, I have requested a complete security review, a pedestrian security zone, and I have requested an automated speed application chamber (ASE) to reduce dangerous driving,” he said in a proportionate written statement Cp24.com.

“I am committed to working with the city staff, the zero vision and the community to implement significant changes. No one should fear for their safety while walking in our city. “
