WASA: We take this matter seriously | Local news

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has launched an investigation after the circulation of a video on social networks that seems to show a sleeping WASA driver at the wheel of an official vehicle.

Wasa said in a statement yesterday: “We took this matter seriously and we have initiated an exhaustive investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

The state water supplier said that it was still “firm in our commitment to maintain the highest security, professionalism and responsibility standards for all members of our team. The well -being of our employees and the communities we serve is our highest priority, and we are dedicated to ensuring that all operations are carried out in a way that reflects these values.”

He said he recognized “hard work and dedication to the members of our team, many of whom work tirelessly, including shifts during the night, to provide essential services to the public.

“However, any behavior that does not reach our established protocols is approached quickly and appropriate.”

Wasa said as part of his continuous efforts to maintain public trust: “We will use this opportunity to strengthen our internal policies. We assure all that WASA remains committed to transparency and continuous improvement. “

The video showed a man recording what seemed to be a sleeping driver at the wheel of a marked Wasa vehicle, with his engine in operation, while the traffic accumulates behind the vehicle.

Neither the video nor the WASA indicate where the incident took place.
