Witnesses sought after 1 dead, 3 injured in Boxing Day crash in Cranbrook, BC

Police are seeking more information about a crash that killed a 64-year-old woman and left three people seriously injured in Cranbrook, B.C.

According to a statement issued Tuesday by the BC Highway Patrol, the collision occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Highway 3/95 near Stropky Road on Boxing Day, December 26.

The woman, from the city of Grand Forks, was driving alone, while the three seriously injured people were the driver and two passengers of another car, according to the statement.

Speed ​​and impairment cannot yet be ruled out as factors in the crash, and the investigation continues, police said.

Anyone who witnessed the accident or the events preceding it is asked to contact the BC Highway Patrol in Cranbrook at 250-420-4244 and refer to file 2024-4895.

“The BC Highway Patrol is asking anyone who saw the events leading up to this collision to talk to us about what happened, and we are especially interested in any dash cam video,” said Cpl. Michael McLaughlin.

“This was the second fatal collision in less than a week in winter conditions near Cranbrook. “Please everyone, slow down and make sure you drive sober and without distractions.”
