ITV’s The Chase received complaints as angry viewers complained ‘what a waste’ and ‘switched off’

Chase viewers were left in an uproar because they all saw the same thing during Tuesday’s episode.

Chase fans were left furious when they all voiced the same complaint about the ITV show.

On Tuesday’s (January 7) episode of the popular quiz show, four hopefuls went head-to-head with Mark Labbett, aka The Beast, in a bid to win some money.

The first to arrive was Stephen, a Lincolnshire civil servant. The 40-year-old demonstrated his impressive trivia knowledge in the cash-generating round, answering nine questions correctly.

With £9,000 in hand, Stephen was in a prime position as he awaited Mark’s offers. Stephen opted for Mark’s lowest offer, £3,000, despite demonstrating his intellectual prowess.

After Stephen successfully returned to the team, it was Chynna’s turn to contribute to the prize fund. The 31-year-old had no trouble following in her teammate’s footsteps, answering eight questions correctly in the cash-generating round. the express.

However, like her teammate, Chynna chose the low bid of £2,000. This brought the team’s total to £5,000, with host Bradley Walsh highlighting that they could have had £17,000 instead.

Next was Rob, an ambulance dispatch officer from Newcastle. The 28-year-old answered six questions correctly on the cash creation form and, refusing to accept a negative offer, was left with this amount in the face-to-face with Mark.

Unfortunately, Rob was caught before returning to the final chase. The last contestant to face The Beast was Carol.

He approached the table with £3,000, but like his team-mates, decided to go for the low offer.

During the final chase, after opting for a low bid of £2,000, a quiz team’s decision on The Chase reduced their prize pool to just £1,000 each, sparking outrage among viewers.

The public expressed their frustration on social media, expressing their disappointment with the contestants’ strategy.

One disgruntled viewer exclaimed: “OMG! This team! The top two get £8 and 9k and go down, and the woman at the end is bound to go down because she’s telling everyone else. What a waste! They could have been playing for £90,000, and they’re playing for £5,000. What’s the point of coming?” (sic)

Echoing this sentiment, another added: “What’s the point? It won’t be worth winning the amount of money back. Annoying team with dumb, low offers!”

One frustrated fan commented: “I just turned it on…immediately turned it off.”

Another expressed his discontent: “I’m not even going to watch the final. I’m going to hell with Pointless. Thank you very much, team.”

One enraged viewer took aim at the show’s direction: “The very deliberate change of having Bradley and The Chasers go on and on about ‘he’s actually tactical/smart/brave’ to lower the bar has completely killed the show. Totally different vibe even from a program a few years ago.”

Adding to the chorus of criticism, someone chimed in: “Why bother applying for the chase if you’re not going to make a decent amount of money? No one cares that you’re a know-it-all if you’ve fallen through the cracks.” “.

Despite a valiant effort in the final round, with 12 questions answered correctly, Mark Labbett caught them with just six seconds left on the clock.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
