Hit-and-run in Surrey leaves 2 seriously injured

The driver of a Maserati fled the scene of a crash in Surrey that left two people seriously injured Saturday night, according to authorities.

First responders were called to the scene on 75th Avenue near 124th Street around 10:15 p.m., the Surrey Police Service said in a news release.

“Surrey Fire Service personnel arrived first on scene and provided life-saving care to a seriously injured pedestrian,” the statement said, adding that investigators believe the man was standing between two parked vehicles when he was struck by the Maserati.

“A second person who was inside a stopped/parked vehicle suffered less serious injuries but was also transported to the hospital.”

The driver of the Maserati “immediately” fled the scene, police said.
