Road closed after pedestrian seriously injured in crash in Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZ Family) – A major road in Scottsdale is closed Thursday morning after a vehicle struck a pedestrian.

Scottsdale police responded to the crash around 9 a.m. Hayden and Indian School Roads.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and suffered life-threatening injuries, police said. The person was taken to a local hospital.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene, according to Scottsdale police. It is unknown if distracted or drunk driving played a role.

Both northbound and southbound Hayden Road are closed at Indian School Road. Turn lanes from westbound Indian School Road to northbound Hayden are also closed.
