Karen Read Documario: Karen remembers the shocking moment of John O’Keefe’s mother, he turned against her

Karen Read is counting her history side in Discovery Docuseries research “A body in the snow: Karen read the test.”

The series documents the first Read trial for the alleged murder of her boyfriend John O’Keefe, a Boston police officer. Reading declared innocent of second degree murder, involuntary homicide while operating under the influence of alcohol and left the scene of a fatal accident.

In Episode 2 of “A Body in the Snow”, which was issued directly after episode 1 on Monday, March 17, read recalled the moment when Peggy O’Kefe, John’s mother, first gave to account that he killed John.

The day happened after John’s death in January 2022, when Karen and his father, William Read, went to John’s house to see his family. While he was at home, Karen asked John’s brother, Paul O’Keefe, how John looked when they identified his body.

“‘It seemed that my brother was five rounds with Tyson,” Karen recalled Paul telling him.

“And his mother leans on the island of the kitchen and says: ‘I think it seems that he was beaten by a car.” I’m like, wait a minute, both were looking at the same body? “

Karen’s brother, Nathan Read, was also in John’s house that day. He realized a palpable shift after Paul received a phone call.

“After a couple of minutes, Paul’s cell phone rang, and left the room.” The oxygen left the room at that point, and there were some serious looks of guilt thrown to Karen and later to my father and me. “

Karen also felt it and knew it was time to leave.

“I could read the room, and I wasn’t loved there.

Karen’s first trial for John’s alleged murder ended in a null trial in July 2024 due to a jury hanging. The prosecutors alleged that Karen hit John with his car and fled the scene, while the defense said that Karen is being framed by John’s murder.

Karen’s lawyers alleged that several witnesses used their resources as officials responsible for enforcing the law to cover up what really happened to O’Kefe before being found in the snow outside the house of the police officer Brian Albert in Canton, Massachusetts.

After the trial, Paul O’Kefe file a lawsuit for unfair death against Karen. A judge failed in November 2024 to delay the civil case until after the second criminal trial of Karen, which will begin on April 1.

Karen went to the belief of Peggy and Paul that he killed John during an October 2024 interview with Vanity Fair.

“Paul and Peg, if you think I killed John, that means you judged me badly for two years and entrusted two young relatives to my care,” he said, referring to John’s niece and nephew of John, who lived with him. “Then, in the blink of an eye, do you now think I am a cold blood murderer who took your son?”

Karen reacted several key moments of his first judgment in A body in the first two snow episodesIncluding Kerry Roberts’s testimony that Karen told her “John’s Dead” before her body was found.

“They may tell Kerry:” I am worried that he is dead or something, but I did not say unequivocally in a declarative statement, “Kerry, John is dead.”

Karen’s legal team has affirmed that several witnesses for the Prosecutor’s Office, including Brian Albert and Jennifer McCabe, know more about John’s death than they are leaving and are involved with a cover -up.

“They say that I am a drunk vindictive girlfriend, (a) despised lover, but I am innocent.
