Detroit Metro Doctor accused of secretly recording in ordered locker rooms to be judged – The Morning Sun

Julia Cardi, The Detroit News

A doctor from Rochester Hills accused of secretly registering several children and an adult in the locker room of a local swimming school received the order to be judged.

Several witnesses testified during a preliminary examination on Friday at Rochester Hills District Court 52-3 in the case against Ouum Aejaz before he was obliged to multiple positions. They include the count of sexually abusive activities for children, seven positions for the use of the computer to commit a crime and six charges of capture/distribution of the image of a person without dressing.

Aejaz, an internal medicine doctor, is accused of placing hidden cameras in the locker room and filming people while they were naked at Goldfish Swim school in Rochester Hills, prosecutors say. He faced multiple positions to use a computer to commit crimes, distributing or capturing images of a person and sexually abusive behavior of a person and a child.

A set of accusations is related to a mother with her children of 2 years and 4 years in a wardrobe at the Swimming School.

Aejaz supposedly filmed the mother, the two children and another adult woman from a nearby area, prosecutors say. There is also an alleged fifth victim that has not been identified. But the Oakland County Sheriff’s office has called the case against Aejaz “the tip of the iceberg”, believing that there could be hundreds of other victims.

The assistant prosecutor Allison Krueger called Aejaz’s wife during Friday’s hearing, who testified that he found hidden cameras and memory cards in the family’s house from 2022, even in his closet and a bath used by her and her children.

Shazia Tabassum testified that he first found the cameras and cards after discovering a QR code that led to an application called Lookcam.

Speaking through a translator, she repeatedly said that she was “surprised” by her discoveries. She testified that she confronted him in February 2023 when he pretended to shower, and then saw him running out of the adjacent room when he opened the door.

Videos that he found in the memory cards and a hard drive included images of what he thought was the Goldfish Swimming School, videos of patients and videos with “sexual relations” with other people, including a co -worker, he said. Tabassum thought he recognized the Swimming School because his children also took lessons there.
