Woman in custody after the man seriously injured after the incident in Penrose de Auckland

A 26 -year -old woman is in police custody after a man was seriously injured in the Auckland suburb of Penrose on Monday.

Police said they received a report from an altercation between the pair on Mount Smart RD just after 5 pm

The woman was arrested later near the same road.

The man was transported to the hospital in the city of Auckland in a serious condition.

A police spokesman said they did not believe that the wounds of the man were potentially fatal.

The spokesman said that the charges would be presented with respect to the incident.
