FORD COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) – One person was killed and another was injured in a crash northeast of Dodge City Saturday night.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, The accident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. on US-56, about two miles east of US-283.
KHP said a truck was traveling east on US-56 when the trailer began to swerve due to slippery road conditions. The driver tried to correct it, but the trailer veered.
A Toyota Tacoma, driven by Bernabé Rincón, 28, collided with the trailer. Rincón was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. A 27-year-old passenger in the Tacoma was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The truck driver was not injured.
