New Mexico’s failed candidate declared guilty in the plot to shoot Democratic officials

A jury from New Mexico found a failed republican candidate for the Chamber of Representatives of the guilty state of all positions related to a series of shootings in the houses of Democratic officials in Albuquerque, prosecutors said Thursday.

Solomon Pena was convicted of 13 charges for serious crimes, including three application positions to commit a crime of violence.

Electoral conspiracy theories led to sorrow to recruit others to shoot in the houses of Albuquerque in an attempt to hurt or kill Democratic officials in 2022 and 2023, police said.

No one was injured in the attacks that arrived at a time of high political polarization and fear of violence in the country.

Pena, described as a “right radical electoral denial” by officials, there were alleged fraud falsely in their defeat in a camera race.

The prosecutors accused him of hiring armed men for a shooting in the houses of the Democratic officials after he visited them to dispute their electoral defeat of 2022.

Two men who said they were hired by penalty for the attacks declared themselves guilty more than a year ago.

Pena faces life in prison. A sentence date is not yet established.

Pena’s lawyer told NBC News that his client was not linked to the shootings and called the verdict a “parody.” The lawyer said that Pena had not hired anyone to shoot the Democrats and said it was wrongly blamed.
