Suspicious of the alleged violation of 2002 held for the trial

A Idaho man accused of raping a woman in Oakley more than two decades will be held in trial after a judge’s decision at a preliminary hearing earlier this week, authorities said.

Contra Costa County prosecutors have accused Eric Ferguson, 49, for the forced violation in the April 2, 2002, attack Near Laurel Road in Oakley, according to judicial documents. Two Oakley police detectives with the help of the sheriffs and the United States police in Idaho arrested Ferguson in Coeur d’Airne, Idaho, on May 28 last year.

Ferguson remained in custody on Thursday at West County facilities in Richmond instead of a bail of $ 5 million. It is scheduled to be prosecuted on April 2 in the Superior Court of Pittsburg.

The preliminary hearing was to determine if the authorities had enough evidence to continue with the case against Ferguson. According to judicial documents, the position of forced rape entails two improvements that the victim was under 18 and Ferguson kidnapped the victim, increased his risk of damage when he moved her and used a deadly weapon while he was in her process.

According to Oakley police chief, Paul Beard, Ferguson attacked while the victim walked to a dog. Police said he approached her, left the vehicle and pointed to him with a gun while ordered in the back seat of the vehicle. The authorities said Ferguson forced her to perform sexual acts about him.

The girl at some point escaped and went to a nearby house for help, said Beard. He added that the researchers then collected DNA samples on the scene. Those DNA samples then led to the arrest, said Beard.
