Adolescent and woman, 74, attacked by dogs in Edinburgh when two men charged

Two men have been accused in relation to crimes under the Dangerous Dogs law after three incidents in Edinburgh, including one in which a 16 -year -old girl was allegedly attacked.

The officers said the first incident took place on February 18 of this year in Forth View, Currie, where a Staffordshire bull terrier attacked another dog.

The same dog was involved in a similar incident on March 8 when he attacked another dog and wounded a 74 -year -old woman.

She did not require hospital treatment.

A 53 -year -old man has been accused in relation to both incidents and is the subject of a report to the fiscal prosecutor.

The third incident took place on the Sighthill court on February 24, 2025, where a bully dog ​​attacked a 16 -year -old girl.

She did not require medical treatment.

A 19 -year -old has been accused in relation to this incident, and a report will be presented to the Fiscal Prosecutor.

Sergeant Mark Coll of the community surveillance team said: “We will always respond to the community’s concerns regarding the incidents of dangerous dogs.

“We work with our partners in the application team of the street of the City of Edinburgh in response to these concerns and take the appropriate measures.

“We continue urging anyone with any concern to inform local officers through 101. “
