Much of Louisiana under a dangerous red flag warning

(Lafayette, Louisiana) – Spring has reached Louisiana, and due to the conditions in the area, much of the southern Louisiana is under a red flag warning on March 20, 2025.

The warning has been issued for the area as a result of low humidity levels and high wind speeds.

Under this type of warning, it is recommended not to burn anything in your patio or field. A fire can extend rapidly under these conditions, and the last thing you want to make is to endanger anyone’s property.

Much of the south of Louisiana is also very dry, since we have not received a significant amount of rain in recent weeks, so this also makes the conditions favorable for a fire to spread quickly.

If you need to burn anything on your property, wait for a few days, since the wind speeds will decrease in the next few days, and the rain will move to the area for the weekend, which will help prevent fires from spreading.

Once again, avoid lighting fires and if you see a fire in your area while we are under this red flag warning, you must communicate with your local fire department immediately.

Here is a look at the extended prognosis for Affian, and after the cold front passes through the area, the winds must die and the possibilities of rain rise.

Once again, as you can see here, the conditions in Louisiana on March 20, 2025 are not favorable for outdoor burning, so we hope with fires open for a day or two.
