Case of murder attempt against Edwin Sodi hit out of court

The decision of the Randburg magistrate court to attack the case of Sodi’s murder attempt is produced despite the fact that the State argues against.

The court heard that Sodi had an agreement with the plaintiffs, who then filed retirement agreements.

Prosecutor Dineh Nandikisoor read a letter from the National Director of Public Procedures, where a decision was made to continue the positions.

“The circumstances and merits of this case are too serious to guarantee a withdrawal of the positions by the NPA, regardless of the conciliation agreement.”

But Judge Hleziphi Mkhasibe rejected the request of prosecutors so that the matter remains in the court list.

“While I share your feelings that GBV is on the rise, however, if we face such a case in which a plaintiff voluntarily withdraw a case, there are no threats against it, I do not think it is fair to maintain the matter on the list in these circumstances.”

Judge Mkhasibe ordered the matter to be beaten by the roll.
