Prosecutors drop the case against store employees accused of cutting the store brick

Arlington prosecutors have refused to present charges against an employee of the convenience store accused of trimming an alleged thief with a knife.

The 24 -year -old employee faced two positions for minor crimes derived from the December 16 incidentin which he allegedly persecuted and faced two men who left a 7-eleven in Arlington Heights without paying beer and other items.

After the alleged store thieves left the store, the judicial documents say that the employee attacked one of the alleged store thieves in his hand with a knife, causing a lower laceration on his left index finger.

Then, the employee pierced the tires of an alleged exhaust car in the store parking, located in 201 S. Glebe Road near Thomas Jefferson Middle School.

Initially, the employee was arrested and accused of destruction of property and malicious wounds of serious crime, although the subsequent position was amended to the minor crime of assault and aggression.

The defendant claimed the own defense and the prosecutors officially abandoned the case last week, said defense lawyer Sudeep Bose to Arlnow.

“The police make mistakes are already limited in time.” Being trained in police work and continuing my training in police and digital forensic sciences is worth it in certain cases like this. “

The two suspects of the thieves were arrested after the incident, although not due to theft in stores, according to judicial records. A man was found in possession of a controlled substance, while the other man was wanted in a neighboring jurisdiction, police said.

The lawyer of the Commonwealth, Parisa Dehghani-Tafti, did not respond to a request for comments on this story.
