A man faces charges after the police said he kidnapped a woman in the municipality of Scott, forced her to enter a car and then crashed into a post of public services, seriously injuring her.

Allegheny County Police on Wednesday announced multiple positions, including attempts to homicide, kidnapping, aggravated assault and false imprisonment against Michael Barnes, 34.

The victim told the Police that when he was going to work on the morning of March 11, Barnes, who had been living with her, stirred and began to argue with her. She said Barnes assaulted her and then persecuted her from the house and forced her to enter the passenger seat of her car.

The detectives said Barnes accelerated towards Block 1000 of Bower Hill Road. The researchers spoke with witnesses and saw surveillance videos that showed Barnes turning towards North Wren Drive and leading directly to a public services post “at high speed”, mainly hitting the post with the passenger side.

The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated by serious injuries. Police said it is expected to survive. Barnes was also treated for injuries, although his were minor.

The Police of the Municipality of Scott requested the help of the County Police with the investigation, and the County Police said that Barnes was accused after consulting with the district prosecutor’s office.

Barnes was arrested on Wednesday and taken to the Allegheny County prison waiting for preliminary charges.
