Alexander Volkanovski talks about the possibilities of Ilia Topuria against Islam Makhachev

Volkanovski almost destroyed Makhachev in his fight for the title of five rounds in UFC 284, giving the champion his toughest fight to date. Makhachev then compensated for him with a first round of Volkanovski in his rematch in UFC 294. Volkanovski presented himself as a replacement for Charles Oliveira in an 11 -day warning.

Four months later, Volkanovski ran into Topuria with the hard hand contender drawing its lights in two rounds in UFC 298.

While it is not official, Ilia Topuria vs. Islam Makhachev has generated a lot of interest from fans and the media. A battle between the current champion and the undefeated champion (EX).

Sharing the octagon with the two, Volkanovski commented on the super potential fight between Topuria and Makhachev.

Topuria is the only man who knocked out Max Holloway, the Hawaiian fighter known for his incredible chin.

“Ilyia obviously has some dangerous hands,” Volkanovski said about his former enemy. “He is going to look for (the knockout). It is composed and even if things are not in their own way, he will continue looking for him. He continues to find him until he does or until he loses.

“It’s dangerous,” Volkanovski added.

But, so is Islam Makhachev …

One protected from the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov, Makhachev is 27-1 as a professional with his last defeat 10 years ago: a loss of first round of Ko against Adriano Martins in UFC 192.

“Maybe if the gas tank goes, we will see when the posterior rounds begins with someone like Islam. But at first, the first three rounds will be dangerous,” Volkanovski continued.

“You don’t want any of those blows to be caught. So, if someone could catch it, I think Ilyia is there for an opportunity.”
