Michael Seery, a Katy man in the center in the FBI raid, is believed to coordinate the murder for rent, prosecutors say

Katy, Texas (Ktrk) – A Katy man whose firearms were seized by the FBI during a recent raid now faces accusations that he was involved in an attempt at capital murder.

Michael Seery is accused of offender in possession of a firearm after the agents took 57 weapons from their home in the subdivision, office and storage unit of Lakes window, as well as a 3D printer with codes to make firearms accessories, prosecutors say.

During a detention hearing on Monday, the federal prosecutor on the case argued to the judge that the SeERY should remain in custody because it is suspected that he has been involved or coordinating a shooting on February 4.

Ricardo Obando and his stepson Matthew Rosas are accused of capital murder in the shooting that injured a man in Grand Parkway and Mason Road just after 6 am

A search warrant filed in the District Court said that Harris County researchers found a video that showed a white Honda Ridgeline truck withdrawing from a parking lot while the victim drove and following it.

The victim was in a work truck at the time of the shot that was equipped with a board and a camera inside the car.

The researchers noticed in the search warrant that captured everything and showed that Honda Ridgeline Blanco moved away after the victim was shot.

The victim was able to stop and call 911 and survive.

Additional investigation found that the victim had been monitored before the shooting, says the search warrant.

During an interview with the researchers, Rosas admitted that he already was paid to carry out the shooting, according to a motion presented in the District Court.

“The Coacusado confessed to the officers that the defendant was paid cash to kill the plaintiff,” says the judicial registry. “The Coacusado also declared that the accused paid him $ 300 to promote the defendant to kill the plaintiff that day.”

A federal prosecutor said in the Court on Monday that Obando worked for the construction company of SEERY and sold Obando that the car used in the shooting and provided the weapon. He also said that the SeERY was present in his office when a suppressor was made in his 3D printer.

He also claimed that Seray met with Obando before the shooting and again on February 14 before he was surveying the victim again.

According to the federal prosecutor, the SeERY and the victim of shooting have a “complicated” relationship but did not give details.

Seery’s hired lawyer, Chip Lewis, argued that the problem was between Obando and the victim of shots.

“All I know is that (Obando) worked for (Seye) and does not work for him more, he has no part of the relationship with the underlying victim and does not want part of her,” Lewis explained outside the court.

Seery is not accused of attempted murder.

On Monday, Judge Richard Bennett decided to give Seery a bail of $ 75,000 and release him in the custody of his parents with GPS monitoring.

The judge said it was a difficult decision, but at this point, he is only accused of illegally possessing a weapon. Judge Bennett explained that he would reconsider the bonus if additional charges were presented.

Prosecutors did not leave him explicitly if additional charges would be presented.
