Man seriously injured in a clash that involves trucks in Major Greater Manchester Road

A man of about 60 years was urgently taken to the hospital after an accident with a truck. They were called emergency services Oldham Road around 1.30 pm on Monday, March 17, for collision reports.

The road closed between Old Church Road and A663 Broadway for several hours. An aerial ambulance was observed before a man was taken to the hospital with suspicion of serious injuries.

Oldham Road remains closed between Droylsden Road and Poplar Street as consultations are ongoing.

The images of the scene show a large police cordon with several police cars. There was also a truck inside the cord.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester He said: “Around 1.30 pm today (March 17, 2025), officers responded to the reports of a collision in Oldham Road, Manchester.

“Emergency services are present and closures are currently in force.”

A spokesman for the Northwest ambulance service said: “We take a man about 60 years to the hospital with suspicion of serious injury after RTC who involved a pedestrian. We received a call from 999 to 13.28”.
