“Kelli Bryant has clearly and repeatedly violated the judge’s order not to contact the victims or his caregiver,” said Oakland County prosecutor Karen McDonald. “That order is in its place for an important reason: protect the victims. The decision to ask that the communications of an inmate are not taken lightly, but Bryant repeatedly disobeyed the judicial orders and, in doing so, even more endangering the victims. “

If the motion is granted, Bryant would be prohibited from using telephone communication, tablet and video devices while in jail.

What Bryant’s lawyers said

Bryant’s lawyers responded to McDonald’s’s motion, saying he had no idea that he couldn’t contact his father.

They also claim that contacting his father is not violating because he did not contact his children directly. However, the judge said in his reading position on March 12 that he could not contact the children and his caregiver, who is Bryant’s father.

Bryant’s lawyers denied the claim that she had other inmates contact her father during her charges for welfare fraud charges. They also said that Bryant did not receive their written bail conditions, making it without knowing that he could not contact his father.
