“BCCI trying …”: Harry Brook’s teammate in England falls blunt verdict in the 2 -year prohibition of IPL

Estrella de England Harry Brook He retired from the Premier League (IPL) campaign of India for the second consecutive year, since he was not available before the start of the 2025 season at the last minute. Although the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) allows players to make such decisions due to family -related injuries or problems, Brook extraction was not due to any of those factors. Therefore, the star of England will prohibit participating in the IPL during the next two seasons. As the hard position of the Board became a topic of debate, Brook’s colleagues Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali He shared his honest opinions on the matter.

Moeen Ali, who has played for multiple IPL franchises over the years, refused to label BCCI’s position on the ‘hard’ matter, saying that if a player retires in this way, he ruins his entire team.

“It’s not hard. I agree with that, in a way, because many people do that,” said Moeen in the ‘Barba before wickt’ podcast. “Many people have done it in the past, and then they return and end up obtaining a better financial package, or whatever. And also ruins many things at the same time.”

“I mean, he is messy to his team, obviously, when retiring. Any team that loses Harry Brook is getting a bit mess, and now they have to rejigate everything and things like that.

“Forget it for a second, but if you retire, the rule is that you get a prohibition unless it is for family reasons or … due to an injury or something. If it is a injury or something, it is different. But I think that if it only retires, then it is … I agree with the teams. Actually, you ruin many things.

“He is a superior player. They have probably chosen the team around him, and suddenly, you are retiring.”

Adil Rashid, who has also had the experience of playing at the IPL, supported the BCCI call. He stressed that the board is only trying to prevent such cases from arising every year maintaining a hard position.

He said: “They really put that rule in their place before, and then this happened. Then, you know, since when you enter, this is the rule. Then, when you put your name, you know that if you retire, this will happen. So you know the consequences of it. So I don’t think it’s hard.

“No, but if you retire and you have, as you say, an injury or whatever, then I think that is where something like rules can differ or change that way.

“Not only he (Harry Brook), but … but this has been happening, I don’t know, for a while, I think. Moeen Ali) has been in the IPL much longer, but in the last five years, ten years, many players have been selected in general and have retired. Then, that’s why (BCCI) try to stop it.”
