Thames Water: Challenge to the Rescue Agreement of £ 3 billion dismissed

A rescue loan of £ 3 billion for Thames Water is still on its way after an appeal against the agreement was dismissed.

The problem firm assured the rescue loan in February, to avoid the perspective that the company charged with debts is under government control.

But a small group of lenders had argued against the terms of the agreement, while the liberal democratic deputy Charlie Maynard had argued that additional loans were not of public interest.

This additional financing allows Thames to continue operating for at least another 12 months, which gives it time to restructure its almost 20 billion debts and try to attract new investments.
