Kohli virat: India Batter discards the international return T20 by 2028 the Olympics

The batter of India, Virat Kohli, has ruled out an international return T20 at the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028.

Cricket will return to the Olympic Games for the first time since 1900 at the Los Angeles Games as one of the five new sports.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has said that the tournament will be a T20 event, but has not yet confirmed how the teams will be classified.

However, the organizers have been interested in using Cricket as a way to increase India’s interest in the Olympic Games given commercial opportunities, and their participation would seem extremely probable.

Kohli retired from T20 Duty with India after they won the World Cup in 2024, but will continue to play the format in the country in India Premier League (IPL).

The 36 -year -old said at a sports summit along with his IPL Royal Challengers Bengaluru franchise that Cricket in the Olympic Games was a “great opportunity for some of our boys.”

But when asked if he could be taken out of retirement to play in 2028, Kohli said “no”, although he joked that if India played for the gold medal, “he can return for a game, get a medal and return home.”

Kohli played 125 T20 for India, scoring 4,188 races at an average of 48.69, reaching a century and 38 media centers.
