The Birbhum’s time by West Bengal after Holi’s clash, suspended online; BJP Slams TMC | Latest Indian news

The tensions intensified in Western Bengal Birbhum on Saturday after violent clashes between two groups led to the suspension of the Internet in parts of the city. The state government also deployed a great contingent of security forces to maintain the law and order.

According to officials, Internet and voice telephony services were suspended in at least five areas of grams of Panchayat in the city of Santhia in the Birbhum district of Western Bengala to avoid the propagation of rumors and illegal activities.

The closure is in force from March 14 to March 17.

The order also states that no voice calls or SMS are being restricted. In the same way, no newspaper restrictions have been placed, adding “therefore, the communication and dissemination of knowledge and information do not stop in any way.”

Secting the state government for the suspension of the Internet, the opposition leader in the Western Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari described it as “evidence of deterioration” in the situation of law and order.

When taking the social media platform X, Adhikari alleged that the measure was an “acceptance of disability” by the administration to control the situation.

In a statement published on the social media platform X, he argued that the suspension was a clear indication of the administration’s failure to administer the crisis.

“The Western Bengal Government is doing everything possible to hide the events of communal outbreaks to save its face. I urge @hmondia and its excellence, the honorable @bengalgovernor, to seek a report by the main secretary (@chief_west) of WB with respect to the deterioration of the situation of the law and order in the State,” he published.

According to media reports, a verbal altercation supposedly occurred between a group and some intoxicated people exploded in the city of Sainthia of Western Bengal on Friday, on the occasion of Holi.

The situation intensified even more when the two groups threw stones with each other and involved in punches, and some locals suffered injuries in the fight.

Later, the police put the situation under control after a slight lathe load.

BJP alleges the Bengala government trying to hide the truth

The main leader of the BJP also said that the incidents of skirmishes were reported not only in Birbhum but also in Tamluk, Nandakumar and other areas throughout the state.

In addition, he claimed that the Western Bengal Government is trying to hide cases of communal outbreaks and urged the Ministry of Interior, the governor of Bengala and the Chief Secretary to intervene in the subject and review the situation of the law and order.

The Minister of the Union and the president of BJP of Western BJP, Sukanta Majumdar, also attacked the state government led by Mamata Banerjee for the clash reported in Birbhum and criticized the State Police, claiming that they have become “disappeared” and lost their professionalism.
