Salem’s nurse seriously injured an ATV accident in Thailand – Boston News, Weather, Sports

A Salem nurse was traveling through Thailand with friends when she got into a devastating ATV accident.

Sierra Fairhurst, 23, suffered several wounds.

7News spoke with Fairhurst’s mother, Zoe, while waiting to board a flight to Thailand.

“He had a broken doll, a broken clavicle, clearly serious facial injuries, without teeth, an absent eyelid, and that had a small brain bleeding,” Zoe said.

Zoe says he didn’t have a passport when his daughter was injured. His family called Congressman Seth Moulon asking for help.

She says a woman in her staff was able to get an accelerated passport to see her daughter.

“She has been great, has been registering with me,” Zoe said. “Without her, I would not have had an emergency passport”

Zoe says his family is working with Congressman Moulon to bring Sierra back to the United States as soon as possible.

“She, medically stable to return home and receive treatment here in Boston, I mean that this is the ultimate goal,” said Zoe.
