18 years accused of shooting on the basketball court at the Tuscaloosa County Activity Center

An 18 -year -old boy has been accused in a shooting at a Tuscaloosa activities center that left another seriously injured person.

Areon Brownridge was arrested on Friday for a first -degree assault position, said the Captain of the Violent Crimes Unit of Tuscaloosa, Jack Kennedy.

The deputies of the Sheriff of Tuscaloosa County, the Tuscaloosa Police and the Violent Crimes Unit of Tuscaloosa County responded to the shooting around 4 PM on Tuesday at the Bobby Miller Activities Center, directed by the Park Authority and Recreation of Tuscaloosa County.

The victim, only identified as a man, was in a group involved in a fight on the basketball court of the activity center when the shooting took place inside the building near an exit door, Kennedy said.

The victim was taken by a private vehicle to the DCH hospital in serious condition.
