Kansas City woman accused under the new anti-crime initiative

Kansas City, Mo. (KCTV) – A metropolitan woman is responsible for stealing hundreds of dollars in clothing and accessories from a Waldo store.

The Jackson County Prosecutor’s office said Tajala Jones has been suspicious in 19 cases only in Kansas City in five years.

In the last case, prosecutors accused Jones of two first -degree robbery positions. It is the first time that a suspect has been accused of crimes like this under the Strategy Unit of the Jackson County Prosecutor.

The prosecutors accused Tahala Jones of stealing from the same Waldo store twice this year.

“The unit is doing exactly what it was designed to do: identify the patterns of criminal behavior and ensure that repeat offenders in front of the appropriate charges to prevent them from continuing to victimize our community,” Melesa Johnson, Jackson County prosecutor said. “For those with an extensive criminal record: we are looking, we are connecting the points and we are working with the police to build strong cases. If you choose to continue participating in criminal behavior, the law will be charged to reflect your pattern of crimes. “

The prosecutor said Jones stole children’s clothes, a cell phone box and a colony bottle of a Waldo store.

On February 20, Jones supposedly returned to the store in Waldo and stole another $ 200 in clothing.

After reviewing photos and surveillance video of the cases of store theft, Kansas City Police identified Jones as a suspect.

The declaration of probable cause shows that Jones is accused of 19 crimes in Kansas City, Missouri, in the last five years, which include:

  • Heist
  • Burglary
  • Theft

She is also accused of stealing in stores in Clay County, Johnson County and Cass County.

She has been convicted and fulfilled time for crimes that involve robbery or stolen property in the following cities:

  • CASS County Court
    • Condemned for receiving stolen property in September 2014
      • Sentenced to 5 years of probation
  • Municipal Court of Lenexa
    • Condemned by theft in June 2019
      • Sentenced to 45 days in jail, 12 months of probation and a fine
  • Johnson County Court
    • Convicted of stealing more than $ 1,500 in 3 store merchandise in 72 hours
      • Sentenced to 12 months of probation
  • Belton Municipal Court
    • Condemned for theft of stores in January 2025
      • Sentenced to 2 years of probation
