1 dead pedestrian, another seriously injured after an accident in Middletown

Middletown, Ohio – a person is dead and another is in the hospital with serious injuries after he was beaten by the driver of a truck on Friday morning, according to the Middletown police.

Police said the accident occurred around 6:45 am at Lafayette Avenue and Baltimore Street.

Fire staff treated both pedestrians at the scene, and were taken to the Atrium medical center, said Middletown police. In the hospital, one of the pedestrians was declared dead, according to the police.

The second pedestrian is still hospitalized in a critical condition, police said.

The police have not identified any of the pedestrians, nor have they said if the driver involved in the accident would face charges.

The accident is still under investigation, and the Butler county traffic accident reconstruction has been asked to reconstruction, said the Middletown police.
