Malton Shopfront seriously damaged by the reversal truck

Serious damage was caused to a store in a city in North Yorkshire when a truck was invested.

The officers were called to Robinson’s optics in Newbiggin in Malton around 07:15 GMT on Thursday after reports that a VGV had been backed in the front of the facilities, according to the North Yorkshire police.

They remained on the scene to divert traffic while the damage was evaluated by a structural engineer, a force spokesman said.

The fire teams also attended and inspected the scene and since it left, said the Fire Service and Rescue of North Yorkshire, while the Yorkshire ambulance service confirmed that the paramedics had not attended.

An image published on social networks showed the window window shattered, leaving glass fragments and debris scattered along the path.

The brick around the window also seemed to have been damaged.
