HC Hospital order that you pay a TK 50CR compensation for the mother, the death of the newborn

The Superior Court today issued a rule asking the respondents to explain in four weeks why they should not be ordered to pay 50 million rupees such as compensation for a mother’s family, Umme Salma Nishi, and her newborn who died allegedly due to negligence and abuse by doctors at the South Bangla hospital in Noakhali.

Secretary of Health, General Director of the General Directorate of Health Services, Registrar of the Bangladesh Medical Council, Registrar of the Bangladesh Nursing Council, Civil Surgeon of Noakhali, South Bangla Hospital in Noakhali, director of the Mohiuddin Hospital, Junior Consultant (Anesthesia) Mocor Mdter Hossain Abhi, his wife and Dr Fauzia, a junior Lidurio, a Junior, a Junior Larid, a Junior Farid, a Junior Farid, a Junior Farid, a Board of the Noakhali Medical Assistant Training School (Mats), Zahid Hossain, assistant of doctors at the South Bangla hospital, and Sajib Uddin Hridoy, an OT in charge at the South Bangla hospital, were made to the rule.

The HC Bank of Judge Fahmida Quader and Judge Mubina Asaf issued this rule after a writing request presented by Ma Awal, journalist and father of Umme Salma, looking for the necessary directives for this purpose.

The lawyer of the writing petitioner, MD Soloiman Tushar, said that Ma Awal, former general secretary of Senbagh Press Club, arrived at the South Bangla hospital for the treatment of her pregnant daughter Umme Salma Nishi on October 16 of last year.

On the same day, the hospital authorities, with the help of the medical assistant who works, Zahid Hossain, Dr. Akhter Hossain Abhi and his wife, Dr. Fauzia Farid, made a hurried caesarean section without formally admitting the patient to the hospital, without performing any tests on the patient and without taking the consent of the guardian.

The mother and the child died on the spot. To cover up the incident, the authorities and doctors of the Dr. Abhi Hospital and his wife Fauzia Farid referred to the mother to Cumilla, mentioning that her condition was critical and asking for support in the ICU. When the victim’s parents took her to Tower Hospital in Comilla, the service doctor said the patient had died long ago.

The lawyer said that the victim and the newborn died due to the mistakes and abuse of the authorities and doctors of the hospital, which is a violation of articles 18 and 32 of the Constitution. They cannot avoid responsibility for this.
