Aberdeen Road reopens after two women seriously injured in an accident taken to the hospital

A road in Aberdeen has reopened after two women were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after an accident.

The emergency services were called to B979, between Fintry and Blackburn, around 2.40 pm on Wednesday after a collision that involved a black Vauxhall Mokka and a black vauxhall corsa.

The drivers of both cars, both women, 42 years and 53, were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirary.

Its conditions have been described as serious.

Police said the road was closed for about seven hours to allow investigations to be carried out and reopened around 10 pm on Wednesday.

Sergeant Peter Henderson said: “Research on the collision is being carried out and I am appealing to any road user that was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us.

“You might pass or wears one of the vehicles before the collision. If you have Dash CAM, you may have captured images that could help with our inquiries in progress. “

Any person with information must call the Police of Scotland through 101citing the number of incidents 1956 of March 12, 2025.
