Madras woman who hit, seriously injured pedestrians arrested after a tense confrontation armed with officers

The sheriff says that a spectator tried to disarm the suspect, Taser displayed

Madras, Oregon (KTVZ) – A woman from Madras who threatened another woman with a weapon by text message fled from the police and ran over a pedestrian on Tuesday night, said the Sheriff of the Jefferson County, Jason Pollock. She was arrested after her truck crashed and a rifle pointed to chasing the officers, which caused a tense confrontation that a spectator helped to finish.

The deputies, the Madras Police and the Oregon State Police responded to the “series of violent incidents involving an armed suspect,” Pollock said in a press release.

The police were sent around 9:40 PM to a house on the SW culver highway after informing that Andrea Chelsea Wise, 42, had threatened a 55 -year -old woman from Madras with a weapon through a text message, the sheriff and judicial documents indicated.

The officers who arrived attempt to stop the Wise truck, and initially complied, but soon took off, Pollock said.

Wise hit another woman’s SUV before continuing to the Culver road, where the Sheriff said she ran on a 39 -year -old stepfather, which was seriously injured and then flew to St. Charles Bles.

Wise continued driving south before colliding against a garbage container and another vehicle, said Pollock.

Armed with a rifle, he left and tried to run, but was confronted by the police. Then “said the rifle to the officers, which caused a tense confrontation,” said the Sheriff.

“A spectator tried to intervene and disarm the suspect, at which time an officer successfully displayed a Taser, allowing officers to detain the suspect.”

Wise was taken to the county jail and reserved for numerous charges, including serious crimes, second degree assault, attempt to avoid eluding and criminals in possession of a firearm.

Wise was prosecuted on Wednesday afternoon by six initial charges of severe crime: not performing the tasks of a driver to seriously injured, criminal in possession of a firearm, fleeing or trying to avoid a police officer and three charges of illegal use of a weapon.

The Circuit Judge Daina Vitolins established a bond at $ 500,000 and scheduled the reading of Wise charges in an expected accusation of the Grand Jury for next Wednesday.
