Residents who approach wild horses in Nye County forces Sheriff to intervene

Las Vegas, Nev. (Fox5) – Wild horses not only come into contact with people on Mount Charleston, but also in other Nevada County.

Fox5 discovered that it is also a continuous problem in Pahrump. Now there are new warnings when a baby horse is bringing a great attraction.

Vicky Balint, is the founder of Southwestern Wilds, a non -profit organization dedicated to rescuing and advocating wild horses.

“When I was a child, I used to pretend it was a horse,” said Balint.

The horses mean everything for Balint. In his ranch he has a wild horse that rescued, this horse had another horse 10 months ago.

However, he is passionate about educating the public to maintain his distance from wild horses in the streets of Pahrump.

“What ends up happening is that you take away, their freedom because then they get used to people feeding them,” said Balint.

Balint had informed us about a recent issue in Calvada Eye Park in Pahrump. Where a foal was born and there were reports from people trying to approach him.

That is why the Nye County Sheriff’s office is involved.

“I can tell you that Mom is very very protective with her little baby,” said Sheriff Joe McGill.

Sheriff McGill said his team constantly patrol the park and he drives several times a week.

“Stay away from them,” McGill said.

However, if hurt because you do not stay away, Sheriff McGill wants you to be the horse’s fault.

“If you want to file a complaint well, they really don’t have a complaint to present because they were interfering with wildlife,” he said.

However, horses can end up paying the price.

According to the land administration office, if a horse becomes a nuisance or a threat to humans, it can be carried. However, where they end it depends on the situation that Blm said.

Wild horses are protected by the federal government and it is a crime to touch them, caress or feed them.
