Public service worker wounded in Auburn after line hooked by the vehicle that passed

Auburn, Maine (WMTW) – A Public Services worker from Florida was seriously injured on Monday when a vehicle that passed hooked a fiber line that was installing, taking it out of his staircase to Minot Avenue in Auburn, according to our media partners WMTW.

Tyron Brown, 39, a subcontractor of Fidium Fiber, was executing a line in four traffic lanes when the incident occurred.

The vehicle involved did not stop, and it is not clear if the driver was aware.

Brown suffered serious but not potentially fatal injuries and was treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital.

There were no flags present at that time, although the traffic cones were in use, and the utilitarian vehicle lacked amber flashing lights.

Auburn and Osha police are investigating. Anyone with information is urged to call the Auburn PD tips line at 333-6653.
